: Blind Cricket Association of Jammu and Kashmir today started two-day competition cum selection tournament at Bhaderwah Campus grounds of University of Jammu (JU).
The event is being organised to select the state team for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season of the Blind cricketers slated for October-November.
In total, 36 top blind cricketers of the state are taking part in this tournament and the selection penal is led by international cricketer from J&K, Rohit Sharma.
“We have initiated the process to raise the state team well in advance for the upcoming Ranji season. In all, 24 teams from as many states and other units of the country shall participate in this Ranji Trophy event,” Rohit Sharma told SAN.
Earlier, the event was declared open by Deputy Commissioner, Doda, who was chief guest. The DC interacted with the blind cricketers from all part of the state and assured them all possible help in their endeavour to excel in the game of Cricket.
Meanwhile, the second day of the competition cum selection trials shall take place at Government Degree College ground, Bhaderwah tomorrow.
